Visitors Welcome
The Wiscasset Yacht Club welcomes guests. Most of us came from other parts of the country, liked it here, and stayed. We have 2 guest moorings and the Town of Wiscasset has 3. We are a short walk from historic Wiscasset known as “The Prettiest Village in Maine”. Roam the antique shops and have a lobster roll at world famous Red’s Eats (or, just as good with shorter lines, Spargue’s Lobster!!) There are several other good restaurants or, on Wednesday evenings, you can join our “Grille Night” for a hamburger, hot dog or chicken with an ear of corn, condiments and chips. On Friday evenings join us for a BYO social with various tasty hors d’oeuvres. We are a scenic ride up the Sheepscot river which has enough depth for the largest vessels. Come up on an incoming tide and leave on outgoing and you will pick up a couple of knots. Just keep an eye out for the numerous lobster buoys. The lobstermen supply fresh lobsters to local restaurants as well as supplying Maine lobster to the rest of the world. If you are inclined, you can even take a dinghy ride to the North End Lobster Co-op and pick up some lobsters that were just caught.
